CORE COMMUNICATIONS PRESIDENT JOINS ISP BUSINESS FORUM BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Annapolis, MD, August 15, 2000 -- Core Communications, a CLEC focused on providing telco and bandwidth solutions for ISPs, announced today that Bret Mingo, Core's founder and president, has been elected to the ISP Business Forum's board of directors.

Mr. Mingo currently oversees all aspects of Core's Northeast network deployment, which upon completion will provide ISPs with direct local interconnection to the Public Switched Telephone Network from Virginia to Maine. In addition, Mr. Mingo is working closely with Core's partners, including Covad Communications, Alcatel, and Akamai, to ensure that ISPs on the Core network can offer their end users the most robust broadband solutions available.
