Core Communications, Inc., also known as Coretel, is a 13 year old, Annapolis, Maryland-- based Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC). Borne out the Telecommunications Act of 1996, Coretel offers a variety of IP-centric services geared for VoIP carriers. Coretel's geographic footprint covers the states of Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York. CoreTel's network interconnections cover 14 LATAs with over 100,000 DS0s of capacity covering 1,166 rate centers.

Coretel is the first and currently the only CLEC licensed to operate in over 30 RLEC territories in the state of Pennsylvania. CoreTel's business model is that of an IP Network Wholesaler; we do not sell VoIP to end users directly, only to VoIP Providers and other Internet Service Providers.
